Record your hardware performance
Build 86 adds Studio → Hardware recording for Teenage Engineering EP-136 Sidekick, EP-133, EP-1320, EP-40 and OP-1 original/field. Choose a verified external stereo pair, prepare a fresh Session take, then use local voice Start/Stop. Separate sources can use distinct stereo pairs; a mixed stereo feed does not become separate instrument stems. Monitoring stays Off and existing clips are kept.
Developer-preview implementation: capture-state, native page, voice Stop and mock Live checks passed. Physical EP/OP-1 recording is not yet verified. USB support depends on model and firmware. Live’s input device and wiring must be confirmed; coπ does not configure audio drivers, sample rates or MIDI clock. Save the Set and restart Live to activate the updated controller. Save the Set again after recording to retain the take.
Follow each change in Live
Build 85 introduced channel/device selection, retained in build 95, exact control readbacks and EQ band context. “Start mixing” prepares full-song playback and keeps bounded measured reviews running. Typing or speaking interrupts review; routine mix permission prompts are avoided. Updated controller activation and Main/EQ Eight selection were verified in Live without changing audio controls. Build 88 reached its second provider-driven review automatically in the running app. Musical improvement remains unverified.
Continuous review while producing
One assistant supports production, mixing and mastering. Optional Start continuous mix gathers playback measurements and reviews them with your selected AI provider, at least 60 seconds between reviews. Each Live review may make one small adjustment to an existing control, then measure again. Drafts, recording and detected control changes take priority; Stop continuous mix ends review.
Experimental and Live-only. Provider usage continues while active. Start/Stop, draft preservation and continuation to a second provider-driven review were observed in build 88. Failed passes now retry fresh evidence after a capped cooldown; uncertain edits are held against replay. Musical improvement remains unverified. Short windows are not raw-audio listening, aligned A/B, LUFS, true peak or a guarantee of an optimal master. Live ordinary-track tap-last repair is implemented; the existing Main pair stays first/last. General processor reordering, Logic continuous adjustment and verified complete Logic channel binding remain unavailable.
Inspect the sound on one page
Build 95 includes an inline Sound inspection page: Main before/after chain side by side, then other channels with Previous/Next and an optional slideshow. It uses the existing app window, with full-screen inspection, spectrum, spectrogram and explicit sample-peak/RMS readings. AU 0.2.3 raises the measured stereo field to 128×128 cells, four times the cells of the 0.2.2 64×64 view. Build 95 retains the square plot, Mid/Side axes, guide rings, fading trail and −1…+1 correlation bar. Choose a 16-, 32- or 64-second spectrogram history; the default 32-second span scrolls more slowly. Spectrum axes show frequency and dBFS graduations. Save and restart the DAW to load the updated AU for the finer cells; older tap data stays explicitly labelled as legacy detail. A local summary below the Main pair describes nearby RMS, sample-peak, crest and correlation readings. Choose a live snapshot or Average over 10, 30 or 60 seconds, with a reset button and Short/Long explanations. Averages combine the power of received short windows and report captured peaks and observation coverage; they are not continuous whole-song RMS or LUFS. The summary refreshes once per second locally and waits for fresh, comparable evidence. It does not infer improved sound from these independent windows. The VU display is decorative and is not a calibrated VU meter.
Music download, Spotify, Apple Digital Masters, EBU R128, ATSC A/85 long/short form, Netflix nearfield and cinema profiles provide sourced delivery guidance, not compliance certification. LUFS, LRA, true peak, dialogue gating, aligned A/B and final-export measurement are unavailable. Timing-alignment requests pause continuous mixing. The timing inspector distinguishes beat positions from seconds and refuses substitute global-BPM/mix changes for grid drift; automatic beat-map application, linked-stem/MIDI retiming and word-timed lyric effects are not implemented. Native inspection, averaging and packet checks pass for build 95. Earlier AU 0.2.2 64×64 stereo data and the Main controller were verified in Live after a saved-Set restart. Loading and verifying 0.2.3 in the running DAW requires another saved-project restart.
Your window, where you left it
Build 95 stores Micro, Mini, Normal and Extended positions separately, across app relaunches. Full-height state and its smaller return frame are retained per view; full screen remembers its display and previous view. The floating icon keeps its own draggable location. New views and a new icon default to the far right of the current display. If a display is disconnected, the saved window returns to a reachable screen.
Before your first session
- Open the combined macOS installer to install or update CODAW and Analyzer Tap together. Keep its backup copies until you have verified the update.
- Allow microphone and speech when requested. DAW control uses its adapter; native Save dialogs also need Accessibility approval.
- Choose your AI provider, save your own API key and check the connection.
The app uses a persistent local development signing certificate; it is not Apple Developer ID signed or notarized. The AU remains ad-hoc signed; both the combined and AU-only installers are unsigned and not notarized. Package contents, signatures, universal binaries and backup migration are checked; an end-to-end Installer installation remains to be verified. macOS may require approval. Keep the same installed app and signing identity across updates; changing identity can require one new Accessibility approval.
Tester accounts with Breakin Bread-funded access are not enabled yet.
