Breakin’ Bread exists to empower music makers. We help with the making — but even more with the parts that usually get in the way: administrating your music and your finances so you can keep doing what matters — making music. The makers are the bakers; the fans who pay are the angels bringing the flour. We just keep the bakery running. 🌾

The remaining ~96.9% goes straight to the maker (after the payment processor’s own card fee). On pay-what-you-feel, anything a fan gifts above your set price is kept 100% by you — BB’s cut is only on the floor price.
Why π, and why it’ll shrink. π (about 3.14%) is the smallest, strangest cut in music — a number that belongs to everyone and no one, like this bakery. It has to keep the platform sustainable: hosting, payment infrastructure and the people building it at fair Swedish-market rates. The more traffic and sales the community grows, the more those fixed and development costs are covered — so the goal is to take less and less over time. Every angel who shows up helps lower the cut for every baker.
Merch (print-on-demand) is priced separately — its platform margin mostly covers the print partner’s base cost. Sync licensing and marketplace items may carry their own rates, always shown before you list.

Breakin' Bread is not a collecting society. There are TWO separate royalty streams and TWO different societies. As a songwriter register the SONG (STIM in Sweden). As a performer register the RECORDING (SAMI in Sweden). You often need both.
If you sang or played on a recording you're owed 'neighbouring rights' whenever it's played in public — radio, TV, streaming, shops, gyms, venues. In Sweden that's SAMI. Every country has its own performer society. This is separate from STIM and separate from BB.
